How do Update Schedules work?

Learn how to determine how frequently PacerPro will update a docket on your behalf, and how frequently you'll get updates from us.

Update Schedules determine how frequently PacerPro will log into PACER and access a docket on your behalf.

Note: Update schedules are a minimum guarantee of how frequently PacerPro will refresh the docket.

If another user has a more frequent update schedule set, that schedule will take precedence --- you will receive emails based on the more frequent schedule.

If another user manually updates the docket, you will receive an email with changes up to that point.

All Docket Update emails include changes to the docket since the last time the Docket was updated on PacerPro. They do not cover all activity on a specific day, week, or month.

  • The options are Daily, Weekday, Weekly, and Monthly
  • All Docket Updates run overnight
    • Manual: no regular schedule set; PacerPro will email if docket is manually updated or if another user has an Update Schedule set
    • Daily: every single day
    • Weekday: Monday night through Friday night only
    • Weekly: Mondays
    • Monthly: First of each month
  • PacerPro will email a redline of the docket sheet only if there have been changes to the docket

PACER fees are incurred each time the docket is updated (e.g., every single day for a Daily track), whether there has been activity or not. If there has not been activity, you will not receive an email from PacerPro

What does Manual mean? A Manual update schedule means that PacerPro won't automatically check a docket for you, but you will receive an email either if you manually refresh the Smart Docket, or if another PacerPro user has an Update Schedule or refreshes the docket.
Why did my scheduled update only include changes for part of the time period? If the docket was refreshed by you or by another user during that time period, the next email will only cover updates from that point. As long as docket updates are turned on, you should receive an email for the interim update, as well.
