Common reasons why your PDF2Go email didn't include attached documents
PacerPro sends PDF2Go emails with documents attached when we've gotten access to a free look of the documents via a court's Notice of Electronic Filing (NEF).
When we don't get a free look, we send a PDF of the NEF instead. Some common reasons why:
- The documents were filed under seal
- The attorney on whose behalf we received the NEF doesn't get access to the free look
- The attorney is admitted pro hac vice
- The attorney signed up to receive notices in this case on the court site, but does not appear in the case
- The NEF was for a text-only entry and there are no underlying documents
- The court was having connectivity issues at the time PacerPro attempted to receive the documents
If you suspect that you're not receiving documents because of a repeated court connectivity issue, please contact support@pacerpro.com
A less common reason why you might receive a PDF of the NEF instead of documents is because you've bookmarked a case where your firm doesn't have an attorney of record, and the docket text in that filing referred to sealed, redacted, or confidential information. As a precaution, we only distribute documents in those entries to recipients at firms who appear in the case. The documents are available on the PacerPro Smart Docket.
