Find out how to subscribe to alerts for any federal case - whether your firm appears in it or not.
PacerPro can alert you to changes to a docket in any federal case. See below for some common reasons why you might want to set this up.
To get started:
- Find the case on your My Cases page, or search for it and bookmark it
- Make sure the case has a valid client code entered (you can enter this to the left of the case information on My Cases)
Caution: if your firm requires a client/matter number on PACER, you must enter a client code in this format for your Docket Update to run
- Click on the Calendar icon
- Toggle Docket Updates ON
- Select the update frequency you'd like us to check PACER for changes to the docket
- If you select Daily, Weekday, Weekly, or Monthly, you will be charged at that frequency regardless of whether there has been activity on the docket or not
- If you do not select a schedule, you will not be charged, but you will only receive updates if another PacerPro user has an update schedule set, or if someone refreshes the docket on PacerPro
- The Update Schedule is a guarantee of the minimum frequency we'll update the docket. If another individual has a more frequent update schedule or refreshes the docket, you'll get more frequent updates
Tip: You can check if another individual at your firm has set a schedule by clicking on the Team icon and checking the schedule that appears there

Some common reasons you might want to set a Docket Update are:
- Your firm will be appearing in this case but isn't yet receiving Notices of Electronic Filing
- The case is of interest for another reason (e.g. it's related to a firm case, or a client appears, or it's similar to a case your firm is in)
- Your firm does appear in the case, but you want to make sure to stay on top of any changes to the docket that might not generate a Notice of Electronic Filing
