How do I enter a client/matter number?

Enter or update a client/matter number for your firm's cases in PacerPro

Entering a client/matter number is easy! Once you do so, it'll be easier to filter through your firm's cases. Plus, you'll be sure that any Docket Updates or bulk downloads on any case you have bookmarked will run properly.

  • From your My Cases or All Cases page, click in the text box to the left of the case informat
  • Enter a client/matter number in the format your firm requires for searching on PACER
  • This client/matter number applies to everyone in your organization, so be sure to only enter or change it if you know you have up-to-date client/matter information

If your firm uses PacerPro to automatically upload your documents into iManage or NetDocuments (or any other DMS), a client/matter number is required for documents to sync.

If you need to change an existing client/matter for a case that is being automatically synced into iManage or NetDocuments, contact your firm's PacerPro admin.
