How do I add myself or others to a case?

Add yourself or other users to the distribution for any case on PacerPro, whether your firm has an attorney of record or not

Does your firm have attorney of record in the case? If no, see below.

If yes, you can add yourself or anyone else from the All Cases tab (second icon from the top on the toolbar to the left of the screen)

  • From the All Cases tab, scroll or use the filter bar to find the case or set of cases to which you'd like to edit the distribution
  • To add yourself, click the Bookmark icon to the far right of the case information, and then select Add to My Cases
  • To add others, click the Team icon (second from the right)
    • Add an individual by typing in their name or email address
    • Add the members of another PacerPro distribution by typing in the case name

If you don't see the case you're looking for on All Cases, but you know an attorney from your firm has an appearance, this may mean that there has not been a filing in the case since PacerPro was set up, or that the attorney has not been set up with PDF2Go.

If your firm does not have an attorney of record in the case, you can search for the case on PacerPro and bookmark it.

  • Click on the Search (magnifying glass) icon on the left sidebar
  • Select from the District, Bankruptcy, Appellate, Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML), or PACER Case Locator options
  • Choose to search by party name or case number (PCL search is by party name only)
  • Bookmark the search result(s) for which you would like to add yourself 
  • To add additional distribution list members, return to your My Cases page from the left sidebar and find the case
  • Click on the Team icon and add recipients by typing in a name or email address, or copying the distribution from another case
