What's new with PDF2Go and Docket Updates?

We've made it easier to figure out when you should expect to receive a PacerPro notification, and whether you'll be charged for it.

PDF2Go:

Note: There is never any charge for PDF2Go documents. PDF2Go documents are only guaranteed when an attorney at your firm has a notice of appearance in the case, and is properly set up with PacerPro.

  • PDF2Go (lightning bolt) icon blue + ON: You will receive real-time PDF2Go notifications with documents attached because:
    1) your firm has an attorney of record in the case who is
    2) set up with PacerPro, and
    3) you've bookmarked the case and your PDF2Go notification setting is ON
  • PDF2Go icon blue + IF AVL: You will only receive real-time PDF2Go notifications with documents attached if another PacerPro customer is set up with PacerPro in this case, because although you your firm does not have an attorney of record in the case, you have your PDF2Go notification setting ON to receive notifications if we happen to process them
  • PDF2Go icon white + OFF: You will not receive any real-time notifications for this case because, while you have this case bookmarked, your PDF2Go settings are OFF
  • To adjust any of these settings, or to learn more information about them, click the PDF2Go icon

Docket Updates (Tracks)

How often will I be charged for Docket Updates, and when will I receive notifications?

  • The Calendar icon second from the right of the case information on your My Cases page indicates whether you have an Update Schedule set
    • If this is set to Daily, Weekday, Weekly, or Monthly, you will incur PACER fees for the docket update at that frequency. You will receive a redline notification if there has been any activity on the docket within that timeframe, or if another user refreshes the docket or has a more frequent update schedule set.
    • If the calendar is set to Manual, you will not be proactively charged for the update, but you will receive them if another user updates the docket or has an Update Schedule set on PacerPro
    • If the calendar is set to Off, you will not receive any Docket Update notifications
  • To adjust these settings or to learn more about them, click on the Docket Update icon for a specific case. If you intend to remove a Docket Update, make sure to turn off the Update Schedule before turning off the notification.

How do I know which cases will not send me alerts?

  • If a case does not appear on your My Cases page, you will not receive PDF2Go or Docket Updates for it
  • If a case appears on your My Cases page, but the PDF2Go and Docket Updates icons both say OFF, you will not receive updates for it.
